What is Formulayt?

This guide covers platform basics, form deployment options, key features, dashboard metrics, and best practices for creating web forms.

Updated over 2 months ago

Formulayt is a cloud platform that helps enterprises deploy, manage, and monitor web forms without technical resources. Create and maintain forms across your digital presence with consistent data capture, compliance standards, and excellent user experiences.

Note: Your Formulayt instance may differ from examples shown here because the platform can be configured to your specific company requirements.

More Than Basic Web Forms

A Formulayt form does more than just collect data. Unlike basic web forms, Formulayt forms provide:

  • Promotional messaging and interactive elements

  • Content delivery capabilities

  • Complete interaction measurement

  • Intelligent user experience optimization

  • Data collection orchestration

For this reason when Formulayt forms are deployed to a web page, we refer to them as GATES.

Understanding Gates in Formulayt

Formulayt gates are intelligent components that combine your chosen form template with the functions described above. Formulayt gates can gate a piece of content from your users, but can equally just perform a simple contact request.

Each Formulayt gate combines these working components:

  1. Content delivery (documents, videos, webinars, contact requests)

  2. User messaging (promotional content, thank you messages)

  3. Form configuration (field selection and layout)

  4. Behavioral rules (returning visitor handling, progressive profiling)

  5. Language settings and localization

  6. Measurement capture (marketing reporting parameters)

  7. Metadata (campaign tracking, automation triggers)

Gate Deployment Options

Formulayt offers two flexible deployment options to suit your needs:

Inline Gates Inline gates embed directly within your web pages and become part of your content flow.

Modal Gates Modal gates appear in overlay windows, perfect for non-disruptive data collection.

Both deployment types support:

  • Responsive design for all devices

  • Template-based deployment

  • Dynamic field behavior

  • Consistent branding and styling

Platform Features

The Formulayt platform enables:

  1. Template-driven configuration

  2. Global data governance

  3. Built-in localization support

  4. Compliance management

  5. Performance monitoring

  6. Marketing technology integration

  7. Real-time update capabilities

The Formulayt Dashboard

The Dashboard appears when you log into Formulayt. It provides a complete overview of all your deployed gates. To adjust the time period displayed, use the date range selector in the top right. The dashboard shows key metrics including form activity, conversion rates, and global analytics.

Key Metrics Explained

Monitor these essential metrics when analyzing form performance:

  • Form Load: A single load of a gate on a webpage. This will normally coincide with the page load and is not dependent on user interaction.

  • Form View: A single view, by a user, of a form on a gate. For inline gates, this is when the form scrolls into view. For modal gates, it's when the user opens the gate.

  • Form Start: Tracked when a user begins completing the form

  • Form Submission: Registered when a user successfully submits the form

  • Abandonment Rate: The ratio between form starts and submissions, helping optimize conversion rates

Getting Started

We recommend starting with the Installing the Formulayt Script section.
