How to Set Up an iFrame Gate Type

If you want to gate content that is located on an external page and display within an iframe, use this option

Updated over 10 months ago

With Formulayt, you can display a webpage within an iframe after users submit a form. This guide walks you through the setup process and configuration options.

Creating an iFrame gate

  1. Navigate to the Browse Gates area

  2. Create a new gate

  3. On the Content tab select Web page (framed) as the Gate Type

Configuration options

Content source URL

Enter the URL of the webpage that will be displayed within the iframe after form submission. This is the gated content users will see after completing your form.

iFrame dimensions

Set the iframe width and height in pixels. Choose dimensions that match the aspect ratio of the content you plan to display within the iframe.

Sizing behavior options

Choose how your iframe will adapt to different screens and environments:

Fixed size

Selecting Fixed size means the iframe will always maintain the exact width and height you specified, regardless of:

  • The page where the gate is embedded

  • The size of the content being delivered

  • The user's screen size

Fill width available

Selecting Fill width available means the iframe will scale to fit the available width where the gate is embedded. You can also set a maximum width to prevent the iframe from becoming too large.

Additional settings

You can also choose to:

  • Maintain the aspect ratio - keeps your content proportional when resizing

  • Fill the page if the gate is a modal - when enabled, this setting overrides other size configurations and makes the iframe fill the entire browser tab.

Analytics integration

This gate type includes an analytics event that fires when the frame loads. You can configure this in the Manage Events area to track how users interact with your gated content.
