Field placeholders help guide users when they are completing a form. For email and URL fields, if no placeholder text has been added in the field's settings, a default placeholder message will be displayed instead to help the user complete the field.
The default messages are as follows, and can be translated in the translations area:
Email fields: Please enter your full email address
URL fields: Please enter a valid url e.g. https://www.example.com
It is possible for Administrators to remove default placeholders for email and URL fields by going to Setup > Settings > Forms > Field placeholders.
