User Groups and Folder Permissions

Create and manage user groups to implement folder-level access control for regional teams and maintain enterprise governance.

Updated over 6 months ago

Formulayt's group management feature enables enterprises to implement folder-level access control. This allows organizations to effectively manage regional teams and their campaign content while maintaining governance. Groups and folder permissions settings are only accessible by administrators and will also depend on your Formulayt Subscription level.

Creating a new user group

To get started:

  1. Navigate to Setup > Groups

  2. Click Create a group

When creating a group, you'll need to:

  • Name the group

  • Provide a brief description explaining the group's purpose (e.g., "Users in this group have access to all campaign folders in APAC")

  • Select the root folder relevant to this group by clicking 'Change root folder'

If you want to restrict access to a particular subfolder or campaign, use the buttons on the right-hand side to view subfolders. Note that you can only select one folder per group.

After selection, you'll see the breadcrumb of your selection in the "Change root folder" section.

Assigning users to groups

Users are assigned individually to groups and can only belong to one group at a time. To assign users to groups:

  1. Go to the Setup > Users

  2. Select the user you want to assign

  3. Use the Group dropdown to assign them to a group

  4. Click the information tooltip button to see all group descriptions

Important notes

  • Each user can only be assigned to one group at a time

  • Groups are tied to specific folders in your content hierarchy

  • The group structure allows for regional or departmental content segregation
