Installation
To use the Formulayt Chrome Extension, install it from the Chrome Webstore.
After installation, the extension will appear in your Chrome toolbar. You'll need to log in using your Formulayt account credentials. If you are already logged into Formulayt's admin website, you will be logged into the Chrome extension.
Note: If the Formulayt Chrome Extension is installed, gates may take longer to load. During the page load process, the extension and Formulayt script exchange data to identify and provide information about gates. This process can take a few seconds, which can noticeably increase gate load times.
If you are troubleshooting slow gate loading, try disabling the Formulayt Chrome Extension first to rule this out.
Features
The Formulayt Chrome Extension scans web pages for gates and provides key information including:
Gate ID
Gate Type
Embedded instances (inline gates and modal triggers)
Form Type
Accessing the Formulayt platform
The extension dropdown menu includes a direct link to the Formulayt platform. This gives you quick access to:
Create new gates
Find links to Formulayt features
The extension also detects whether the Formulayt install script is present on the page you're viewing.
Highlighting gates
Click on any gate in the extension list to highlight it on the webpage. This makes it easy to locate gates visually. If the gate has been embedded as a modal, the triggering element (link) will be highlighted. If the gate has been embedded inline, the gate itself will be highlighted.
Sometimes it may not be possible to highlight a gate or element because it is hidden on the page, this is common if elements change visibility due to response page design.
Editing gates
To edit a gate, click the pencil icon next to the gate. This takes you directly to the gate editor in the Formulayt platform.
Customizing the extension
You can customize which gate information appears in the extension:
Go to Setup > Settings > Chrome Extension in your Formulayt account
Select which gate attribute values should display in the extension
Note: Gate name, form type, gate type, and language are always displayed regardless of customization.
