Why Use a Sandbox Account?
A sandbox lets you test ideas without risk.
Use a sandbox to:
Trial new gate designs or configurations
Test changes before going live
Validate integrations or workflows
Train team members in a safe environment
All changes in a sandbox remain separate from your production account.
How a Sandbox Works
A sandbox works in the same way as your main Formulayt account.
Includes your standard features and functionality
Mirrors your production setup (when synced)
Please note that this does not include gates.
Does not impact live gates or users
You can also control access:
Limit access to admin users only
Keep testing restricted to specific team members
How to Set Up a Sandbox
Sandbox accounts are created by your account manager.
To set up a sandbox:
Raise a ticket via our Support Messenger
Request a sandbox account for your organisation
Please note this is a chargeable feature.
Keeping Your Sandbox Up to Date
You can update your sandbox to match your production account.
If you already have a sandbox and need it refreshed:
Raise a ticket via our Support Messenger
Request a sync from your production account
What Gets Copied to a Sandbox?
When syncing from production to sandbox, only specific configuration items are copied.
The following items will be copied:
Fields
Form types
Events
Translations
Chrome plugin configuration
Custom account JavaScript
Gate editor configuration
What Does Not Get Copied?
Some items remain separate and are not transferred to the sandbox.
The following items will not be copied:
Gates
Gate folders
Users
Groups
Roles
App integration settings
Reporting data
Any other object types
Important Notes
Configuration can only be pushed from production to sandbox
When pushing the configuration from production this will delete and replace copied elements in your sandbox. This process cannot be undone.
Changes made in the sandbox do not affect production
Sandboxes are designed for testing, not live use
Summary
Sandbox accounts provide a safe space to test and experiment.
They replicate your main account environment
They keep testing separate from live activity
They allow controlled access for your team
