Submission Destination Field Rules vs Secondary Submission URLs

Submission destination field rules are designed to change the primary destination for a submission.

If your requirement is to send a submission to an additional destination while still maintaining the primary submission route, you may wish to use the Secondary Submission URL feature instead.

For example:

  • Primary submission destination → CRM 1

  • Secondary submission destination → Internal system or webhook

In this scenario, the submission is sent to both destinations rather than replacing the primary routing.

Submission destination rules and Secondary Submission URLs serve different purposes:

Feature

Purpose

Submission Destination Rule

Changes the primary destination for a submission

Secondary Submission URL

Sends a copy of the submission to an additional destination

Which Should I Use?

Use a Submission Destination Field Rule when:

  • The submission should be sent to a different destination instead of the default destination

  • Routing depends on user responses, campaign requirements, or gate specific requirements

Use a Secondary Submission URLs when:

  • You need a copy of the submission sent elsewhere

  • The primary submission destination should remain unchanged

  • You need to integrate with multiple systems simultaneously
