Create a Salesforce integration user for Formulayt
Formulayt should connect to Salesforce using a dedicated integration user rather than an individual employee’s account. A separate user prevents the connection being affected when an employee changes role or leaves and provides clearer audit history.
Salesforce recommends using a separate user for each integration and granting only the permissions that integration needs.
Create the user
1. In Salesforce Setup, navigate to Administration → Users → Users and select New User.
2. Use a monitored, non-personal email address belonging to your organisation.
3. Set User License to Salesforce Integration.
4. Set Profile to Minimum Access – API Only Integrations.
5. Save the user.
6. Open the automated Salesforce activation email, validate the user and set its password.
The Minimum Access – API Only Integrations profile provides API-only access but does not, by itself, grant access to the Salesforce records or fields Formulayt needs. Follow the relevant Formulayt integration guide to assign the product-specific permissions:
• Salesforce Sales Cloud: permission to read, create and update Leads and the fields mapped in Formulayt.
• Salesforce Account Engagement (Pardot): an Account Engagement user and role with access to Visitors, Prospects and Prospect Accounts.
The Salesforce administrator who creates the External Client App does not have to be the integration user. When connecting Formulayt, complete the OAuth authorisation using the dedicated integration user.
If the Salesforce Integration licence is unavailable
If your Salesforce edition does not provide the Salesforce Integration licence, ask your Salesforce administrator to provision an equivalent dedicated, API-enabled user with least-privilege access. Do not grant System Administrator access solely to connect Formulayt.
